Introduction to Changemaker Education
Hosted by Lottie Dowling, Going Global Manager
Length: 60 mins
Audience: Primary and Secondary Educators, Curriculum Leaders
Our students are our future. They are passionate, capable, informed young people, ready to lead initiatives that support the essential skills of tomorrow – Global Citizenship.
Changemaker Education provides opportunities for students to follow their own interests and areas of passion, to take action on issues they see as important and can improve their local community.
Taking action on issues of concern is an important life skill and provides rich and deep learning opportunities for students that connect across the curriculum and develop a wide range of skills. It is engaging learning that students see the relevance in and develops leadership skills.
This session is an introduction to Changemaker Education. It looks at the stages of Changemaking and the related skill sets that students need to be effective Changemakers such as; media literacy and digital citizenship. It explores how best to embed it into the curriculum or schools.
Participation in this session gains access to Meg’s self-paced online 5 hour PD course, Young Changemaker Education
