Embedding the SDGs Into Schools – An Introduction

Hosted by Lottie Dowling, Going Global Manager

Length: 60 mins

Audience: Primary and Secondary Educators, School Leaders of all Levels

Have you ever wondered what the world will look like in 2030? Have you considered what you would like it to look like?

In 2015, The United Nations did exactly this, creating the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (or SDGs) which are described as ‘a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future’. The SDGs are an urgent call for action globally. They understand that our current global challenges are complex, interconnected and interdependent – but are also solvable.

This session is an introduction to the SDGs and explores how to embed them into schools and classrooms, across the curriculum. It identifies the skills and knowledge that SDG-related learning develops and shows how the SDGs provide a great platform for real world student action.
