Planning International, Diversity and Culture Days

Designed by Lottie Dowling, Going Global Manager

The Planning International, Diversity and Culture and Days Course was developed to assist the increased demand of educators wishing to not only plan these types of events but for educators who wished to hold truly inclusive events and move beyond ‘surface culture’ activities toward truly transformative learning. When students take part in the activities these events include, it helps them to develop essential sets of skills, values, and knowledge that they need to live in a globalised world that is interconnected and interdependent. These events fall under Global Citizenship Education (or GCEd), which is a fast-growing area in education around the world.

This self-paced Professional Development Course is designed for participants using a practical approach.
It contains three modules, with each one containing lessons that have videos with explanations, practical tips, and resources to assist participants in designing their ideal International, Culture or Diversity Day.

The course is designed in a linear fashion, with content and materials accessed at any time due to the self-paced nature of it. The course’s key content is designed to take approximately three hours to complete, however, additional materials are included in the Deep Dive sections that are optional for those wishing to take a deeper dive into specific ideas of interest.

At the end of the course, participants will be emailed a certificate of completion for the completed hours of Professional Development in Global Citizenship Education.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Show an understanding of the benefits of these events
